One of the best ways to see the beautiful snowy Alp mountain peaks, historic towns, shaded valleys and rapid-filled gorges is via the Glacier Express. The route winds between St. Moritz and Zermatt, Switzerland.
Our first stop, St. Moritz, offered a pleasant several-hour hike around the lake, a delicious meal at our hotel, the Hauser, and fantastic Swiss chocolates from the local Merkur chocolatier.
We departed early on Sunday morning to catch the Glacier Express to Zermatt.
