Good Friday (Karfreitag) at the Grossmünster in Zürich

This morning, Good Friday, we attended the service at the reform church, Grossmünster, in Zürich. The service was familiar in many ways liturgically, though it was in German. Unfamiliar to us, and pleasantly surprising, was the Kantorei Grossmünster and Aargauer Kantorei accompanied by full orchestra playing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart throughout the service.

After the service, we went to our favorite place, Santa Lucia, for lunch, then strolled the streets to enjoy the sunshine and cool breezes.

As a treat for you all, please enjoy several recorded songs from the service by downloading, then extracting the ZIP file below (rather large download, but worthwhile). This was recorded in stereo this morning during the service and files can be played in your favorite music player on Mac or PC (iTunes will work very well).
