Blowin’ Barbecue

In the summer months, our yard and and our neighbors’ yards become a common area where we relax and chat about everything from politics to family vacations. This summer, we have a lot of stories to share, but the uncomplicated character of the backyard barbecue remains. Uncomplicated, but certainly interesting when joined with a solid Minnesota storm.

About a half hour into our burgers, hot dogs and watermelon the wind blew us into action – scurrying the tables, lawnchairs and leftovers back into the calm inside. Then, while the wind continued to blow – sans rain – we all continued to visit as we watched the clouds roll in and skirt the edges of Cologne.

Later, the rain and hail came, with black clouds which passed as quickly as they came, leaving a canvas for the sunset.
