Sledging at Melchsee-Frutt

We decided to go sledging this weekend, regardless of rain forecasts. By Saturday morning the forecast had changed to snow and the temperature was perfect, so we went down to Melchsee-Frutt with Zach’s friend, Sam Christie, to sledge.

Sam and I had never sledged, and we both had a great first experience. As you’ll hear in the video, Sam and Zach enjoyed catching some air off the bumps. We were all pretty frozen after 4 runs of the 8KM sledge run – the longest in central Switzerland, as the man tending the sledge rental station told us with a grin. Kim got a chance to try out her new Davos sledge – a fast little runner.

We broke after the first run to have a scenic lunch. Actually, Sam and Zach shared three full meals – growing young men. Kim, Katelyn and I warmed up with some Aelplermagronen.

As we were eating, the sun broke through the otherwise snowy, foggy sky – beautiful.
