Alphorn Echoes

This is part 1 of 2 of our adventure with our dear friend, Joel, today. First, Joel took us in the mountains to a power dam for Zach to play his Alphorn and hear the amazing echoes. The next post is of the Thermal Baths in Bad Ragaz.

We met up with Joel in Maienfeld, Switzerland, which is the village of where the story of Heidi comes from. It is a cute little village. We then followed him up the narrow mountain valley along the Gigerwaldsee, where we passed the dam that Zach would play against later in the afternoon, to a tiny Walser settlement in the Calfeisen Valley. We visited the Church of St. Martin, dated to 1350. We then headed back to the dam, where Zach pulled out his Alphorn. He played a couple traditional songs and some improvisation. The echoes were amazing.
