Trinity Serve-athon 2012

Katelyn attends Trinity Lutheran School in Waconia, MN as a grade 7 student. Every fall they have a marathon to raise funds for their school and awareness of Christian education. In recent years, they have changed the focus of the marathon from embarrassing yet fun teacher challenges to reaching out to those in need. This year, school supplies and basic needs supplies were collected during chapel. 70 boxes were packed to send to children in need via Operation School Supply who also runs Operation Christmas Child at Christmas time. Basic school supplies of pencils and erasers were collected but also bar soap, toothbrushes, as well as washcloths. Did you know that Ivory soap is the only bar soap that floats? So if it is dropped in the water, it won’t sink to the bottom of the waterway that the child washes in.
